There is no significant difference in engine options, as both engines use 1.6- and 2.0-liter turbo styles. The turbo engine has seen a boost in power with the 175-horsepower boosted to 195 horsepower. We can't be sure yet how much of an impact this will have on acceleration and over all performance.
The 1.6-liter turbo is especially designed for those who prioritize power and performance over all else. The transmission style has also been updated to an 8-speed automatic, making for a more customizable driving experience than the previous 7-speed dual clutch automatic of the current model.
Compared to the 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder unit from earlier, the performance numbers are largely the same. It gets a minor 1 hp boost, from 146 to 147 hp. This engine is more fuel efficient and economical. It's standard with LX, S, and EX trims of 2023 Kia Seltos. The intelligent variable transmission (IVT), which was also on earlier models will be the same here.
The 2023 Kia Seltos could be priced to be competitive with rivals and it might be the most affordable vehicle in this segment. Competitors for the 2023 Kia Seltos include Chevrolet Trailblazer, Toyota Corolla Cross, Mazda CX-30 and Honda HR-V.
