Education
Bose was a highly talented and unusually brilliant student. His talents allowed him to be second in a matriculation exam at the Protestant European School, which is now Stewart High School. During a meeting with Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramkrishna Paramhansa Dev when he was 16 years old, they inspired him tremendously.
When the noted Indian liberation leader Mahatma Gandhi agreed to participate in a relief effort for an injured professor, he had no idea that this would spark a series of events leading to his expulsion. He later left India to join the Scottish Church College under the University of Calcutta, which ignited his sense of rebellion.
For that support, he completed his graduation in Philosophy and passed an exam with flying colors when there was only one attempt available at that time. Along with his brother Satish, he prepared for and took the Indian Civil Services exams in 1921. Although he escaped from British rule as a public servant 13 years after joining it, he still had mixed feelings about his work experience during that time—a growing sense of disgust for British rule turned into resentment for years before being expelled from civil service.

Subhash Chandra Bose’s Family
Subhas Chandra Bose was the son of Janaki Nath Bose & Prabhavati Devi. He grew up with six sisters and seven brothers. He belonged to a prominent family in terms of financial status, being from the Kayastha caste. He got married to Emilie Schenkel. He had a daughter named Anita Bose.
In 1930, Subhas Chandra Bose joined the Indian National Congress (INC) where he learned from Mahatma Gandhi and other leaders about the importance of self-government. In 1923, his mentor Chittaranjan Das passed away and Subhas Chandra Bose took on the responsibility of editing "Forward" which was previously written by his mentor.
In 1928, Motilal Nehru Committee demanded Dominion Status in India but Subhash Chandra Bose along with Jawaharlal Nehru believed this wouldn't hold water. In a letter to Gandhiji in 1929, they asserted that nothing would satisfy Ireland other than complete independence of India from their British captors.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was sent to jail on the first day of January 1930 during the Civil Disobedience movement. However, in 1931 when Gandhi and Oliver Irwin signed the Indo-British Pact, he was released and wrote "Young India". In 1938 Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was elected as President at the Haripura Session for a second term and succeeded by Dr. P. Sitaramayya who had Gandhi's support. He remained steadfast in his commitment to independence within 6 months as requested by him even though there were protests against him during this time as well. He resigned from INC and formed Forward Bloc which was more progressive than INC with less obstructionism from within.
He started a mass movement against using Indian men in the wars of foreign countries. The movement received immense support from Hindus and Muslims alike, which led to him being put under house arrest in Calcutta. However, he left the house disguised as a milkman in January 1941 and reached Germany through Afghanistan via Iran. After meeting with the Nazi leader Hitler, Subhas Chandra Bose was able to gain the help of Japan to fight against Britain occupying India.
Disappearance
He arrived in Singapore and took over the reins of the Indian Independence Movement started by Rash Behari Bose. He organized the Azad Hind Fauj which is also known as the Indian National Army. This was at a time when he was hailed as “Netaji” by which he is commonly referred to even today.
His next few events have been blurry in the struggle for independence but his liberation of Andaman and Nicobar Islands was notable. He then withdrew due to bad weather conditions and the defeat of Japan, Germany, and the United States in the Second World War. Rumors persist that he died in an airplane crash in Taipei, Taiwan in 1945 from suffocation after opening one of its doors despite being told to refrain from doing so.
