Date of prelims test for the IRMS vacancy 2023
Those who wish to apply for the IRMS vacancy 2023 will be required to take the prelims test on 28 May 2023. Those who pass the prelims will be called to take the second stage of the exam, which is the IRMS (Main) Written Examination. A suitable number of candidates will be screened for the IRMS (Main) Examination from all eligible candidates who have passed the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination.
UPSC IRMS Educational Qualification 2023
Degree in Engineering / Degree in Commerce / Chartered Accountancy, from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature or another Educational Institute established by an Act of Parliament or declared as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

IRMS will fill 150 vacancies in the following disciplines
Civil - 30 Vacancies
Mechanical - 30 Vacancies
Electrical - 60 Vacancies
Commerce and Accountancy - 30 Vacancies
From all four disciplines, UPSC will draw and announce one final list of recommended candidates.
In consultation with UPSC and DoPT, the Ministry of Railways has decided that recruitment to the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) will be done by a specially designed examination to be conducted by UPSC from the year 2023 onwards.
