Ayodhya Development Authority
Ayodhya Development Authority is a principal agency of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, responsible for planned, sustainable development of Ayodhya and Faizabad.
The UP Town Planning and Development Act of 1973 includes Ayodhya - Faizabad Development Authority, which exists to meet the basic necessities of our ever-growing population. Their goal is to achieve this by providing solution-focused residential developments.
Ayodhya is situated on the west bank of the river Saryu at a distance of about four kilometers from Faizabad. On 02 November 1985, it was constituted into an Urban Development Authority by the State Government and was governed by Faizabad Development Authority.

This authority stopped functioning from 26 February 1996, when the State Government reorganised their administrative set-up. As per the changed provision the formation of any new urban body has been shifted to a newly created Greater Ayodhya Development Authority which was allied with Faizabad city (No. 67 grams) which already had an existing Development Authority.
As per the notification of State Government Order dated 10th December 2018, as the authority of revised Name Ayodhya Development Authority was formed.
