Burdwan Development Authority
The Burdwan Development Authority was founded in 2002. It is a statutory authority, created by the Government of West Bengal, operating under the Town and Country Planning Act of 1979, which spans 157.62 square kilometers.
The Area falls within Bardhaman District in the southeastern part of India. It is 107 kilometers away from Kolkata Metropolitan Area and encompasses four blocks: one block under Bardhaman-I Panchayat Samity (covering five Gram Panchayats) and two blocks under Bardhaman-II Panchayat Samity. In total, there are 63 Mouzas that make up this area.
Burdwan Development Authority has taken initiative to come up with innovative development schemes since its inception. This should also bring about sustainable infrastructure development, which would reduce the problems that have developed from a long-standing heritage of Burdwan.
