Commerce and Industry minister Piyush Goyal will launch MAARG portal for startup mentorship on Monday, 16 January,2023, which will facilitate mentorship between entrepreneurs and Startups.
The MAARG portal facilitates mentorship for start-ups in diverse sectors. Start-ups across diverse sectors, functions, stages, geographies, and backgrounds can access mentorship through the MAARG portal.
MAARG Portal is a National Mentorship Platform by Start-up India to assist new start-ups. MAARG Initiative will be crucial for UPSC Prelims Exam (New Government Schemes) and UPSC Mains Exam (Governance Initiatives).
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has launched a call for start-ups to register on the MAARG platform, which is the National Mentorship Platform by Startup India.
Under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is responsible for promoting industry and internal trade.
The objectives of the MAARG portal are
To provide sector-focused guidance, handholding, and support to start-ups throughout their lifecycle.
To establish a formalized and structured platform that facilitates intelligent matchmaking between the mentors and their respective mentees.
To facilitate efficient and expert mentorship for start-ups and build an outcome-oriented mechanism that allows timely tracking of mentor-mentee engagements.
With Artificial Intelligence (AI) based matchmaking, startups can now gain personalized growth and strategy advice from academicians, industry experts, successful founders, seasoned investors, and other experts around the world.
It features customizable mentorship programs, a mobile-friendly user interface, recognition for contributing mentors, and video and audio call options.
The MAARG Portal is being operationalized in three phases
Mentor Onboarding
Successfully launched and executed, 400+ expert mentors are onboarded across sectors.
Startup Onboarding.
On 14th November 2022, DPIIT will launch the MAARG Portal for startup onboarding.
MAARG Portal Launch and Mentor Matchmaking.
As part of Phase II, DPIIT has begun the onboarding process for startups that will be matched with mentors.
