Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA)
The Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA) was set up under section 22 of the Gujarat Town Planning & Urban Development Act, 1976 on the 30th of January 1978. The RUDA has an area of 686.30 square kilometers, which includes 48 villages around the periphery of Rajkot and the area of 162 square kilometers for Rajkot Municipal Corporation.
There is a strong transportation network in Rajkot, connecting it to every corner of the state and its neighboring states. It's located in the centre of Gujarat and at the crossroads of Western coal belt, Saurashtra region and Kutch.

The Rajkot Urban Development Area is separated from the rest of the city and is surrounded by other, small settlements.
