Shri Hanuman was the son of Anjani from Pavana. His body was hard as stone, so her mother named him Vajranga. He is also known by the name Mahavir or the mightiest hero, Balibima, and Maruti because of his heroic feats.
In the future, the world will not also see a mighty hero like Shri Hanuman. As long as the world exists, the name he left behind will continue to wield great influence over the minds of millions of people as long as the world survives. He worked wonders and exhibited superhuman feats of strength and valor during his lifetime.
Vayu, the Hindu deity of the wind, delivered the falling pudding to the outstretched hands of Anjana, who consumed it, leading to the birth of Hanuman. Maharshi Veda Vyasa proposed Anjanadri Hill at Tirumala is the birthplace of Hanuman.
Shri Hanumanji is one of the seven Chiranjivis. He was the only learned scholar who knew the nine Vyakaranas.
He learned the Sastras from the sun god. He was the wisest of the wise, strongest of the strong, and bravest of the brave. He was the Sakti of Rudra. He who meditates on him and repeats his name attains power, strength, glory, prosperity, and success in life. He is worshipped in all parts of India, particularly in Maharashtra.
In addition to being able to assume any form he wanted, he was able to shrink his body to a thumb-size size or swell it to enormous dimensions. Rakshasas were terrified of him. He was well-versed in the four Vedas and other sacred books. His valor, wisdom, knowledge of the scriptures and superhuman strength attracted everyone to him. He had extraordinary skill in warfare.
Known as a messenger, warrior, and servant of Shri Rama, he lived to serve Rama. He lived in Rama. He lived for Rama. He was a minister and close friend of Sugriva.
From his very birth, he exhibited extraordinary physical strength and worked many miracles.
When he was a child he put the sun into his mouth by mistaking its ripe fruit. All the gods were very much troubled. They came with folded hands to the child and humbly entreated him to release the sun. The child set free the sun at their request.
In Kishkindha, Shri Rama and Lakshmana searched for Sita who had been abducted by Ravana when Hanuman saw Shri Rama for the first time.
A Rishi cursed Hanuman that he would remain unconscious of his great strength and prowess until he met Shri Rama and served him with devotion. Hanuman became aware of his strength and power after seeing Shri Rama.
In Lanka, Hanuman demonstrated his incredible strength and remarkable powers by destructing Ravana's wonderful pleasure resort - uprooting multiple trees, and killing several Rakshasas. This caused much rage in Ravana, who sent Jambumali to battle Hanuman.
As such, Hanuman seized a tree trunk and threw it at Jambumali, succeeding in his death. Aksha was then sent by Ravana as the next counterforce to Hanuman, yet he too was killed. Indrajit followed as the third challenger and Hanuman threw an enormous tree at him that rendered him unconscious for a while.
Eventually regaining awareness of his surroundings, Indrajit ensnared Hanuman with a Brahma noose. Showing respect to Brahma however, Hanuman allowed himself to be bound by the rope Indrajit then commanded the Rakshasas to take him before his father's court. Astonishingly enough though, even with a hundred Rakshasas aiding them - they were unable to move the monkey.
As soon as Hanuman made himself as light as possible, the Rakshasas lifted him, but when they placed him over their shoulders, he suddenly became heavy and crushed them to death. Hanuman then asked the Rakshasas to remove the rope from him. When the rope had been removed, Hanuman marched to Ravana's council hall.
O mischievous monkey, what will you say to defend yourself Ravana was furious when Hanuman said, O wicked Ravana, give Sita back to Lord Rama and ask his pardon otherwise you will be destroyed and the whole of Lanka will be destroyed. Hanuman laughed and said these words. The Rakshasas were ordered to cut off Hanuman's head.
Vibhishana intervened, saying, O brother, killing a messenger is not lawful and righteous. You can only punish him.
Ravana agreed and requested the Rakshasas to wrap Hanuman’s tail with cloths soaked in oil and ghee, trying to strip him of his beauty. However, no matter how large the tail got, the clothes wouldn't cover it all. Knowing this, Hanuman subdued his tail himself and allowed the Rakshasas to carry out their task, who lit the clothes afterward. Hanuman was then swollen to a gargantuan size and started leaping all around Lanka. In no time, everything that was built had been reduced to ashes as everything was set ablaze.
For cooling and refreshing himself, Hanuman jumped into the sea. Upon spitting a drop of his sweat, a great fish gave birth to a mighty hero named Makara Dhvaja, considered to be Hanuman's son. He then went to the Asoka grove to tell Sita what he had done.
As soon as he arrived at his army, he told them what had happened. They marched swiftly to tell Shri Rama and Sugriva of the good news. When the ring of Sita was given to Lord Rama by Hanuman, Shri Rama rejoiced heartily. He praised Hanuman and embraced him, saying, O mighty hero, I cannot repay your debts.
Ravana sent for his brother Ahi Ravana, who was the king of the nether world. Ahi Ravana came to Lanka and asked Ravana for help in fighting Shri Rama and Lakshmana.
In the dead of night, Ahi Ravana assumed the character of Vibhishana, the brother of Ravana and an ally and devotee of Shri Rama. He reached the place where Rama and Lakshmana were sleeping. Hanuman was keeping watch. As he believed Vibhishana was coming, he allowed him to enter. The two brothers were taken on Ahi Ravana's shoulders as he returned to his kingdom.
When the day broke, Hanuman realized that Shri Rama and Lakshmana were not in sight. He quickly discovered that Ahi Ravana had abducted them into his kingdom. At once, Hanuman set off for the nether world, where he learned that Ahi Ravana had intended to kill the two brothers as an offering. Transforming himself into a tiny figure, he breached into their temple and occupied the image of their goddess. And as Ahi Ravana was about to make the sacrifice, Hanuman reappeared in his true form and killed him. After installing Makara Dhvaja, who was his son, onto the throne; Hanuman took the brothers onto his shoulders and transported them back to Lanka.
Dhumar, Vajro, Roshat, Ankhan, and many other great warriors were killed by Hanuman during the great war.
After the great war, Vibhishana was installed on the throne of Lanka. The time of banishment was coming to an end. Shri Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, and Shri Hanuman flew to Ayodhya on the Pushpaka Vimana or airplane.
It was a great day for Lord Rama to be crowned. Sita gave Hanuman a necklace of rare pearls. Hanuman accepted it with great respect and began to break the pearls with his teeth. In the council hall, Sita and other ministers were astonished by Hanuman's queer act.
Sita questioned Hanuman, O great hero, what are you up to? Why are you smashing the pearls? Shri Hanuman replied, O noble mother, this is a priceless necklace as it has come to me through thy holy hand. I only want to check if any of these pearls contain my cherished Lord Rama. Nothing without him is deserving of my keeping. However, He wasn't to be found in any of them. She probed further, Do you have Him inside you? In response, Shri Hanuman quickly ripped open his chest and unveiled it to Shri Rama, Sita and others. To their delight, they witnessed Lord Rama with Sita in the heart of Shri Hanuman.
He embraced Hanuman and blessed him. Shri Hanuman passed the rest of his life in the company of the Lord.
During Rama's ascension to the supreme abode, Shri Hanuman also wished to follow him. To cultivate devotion, the Lord asked him to remain in this world as his representative and attend all assemblies of men where discourse was given about his deeds.
Chiranjeevi is everywhere. Those with eyes and devotion behold him and receive his blessings.
Hanuman stands apart as the premier hero, renowned for his acts of valor. His irreproachable sense of duty is exemplary. He was a master strategist and unpredictable in combat. His dexterity in leaping a whooping thirty miles in one go and lifting the crest of a mountain with a single hand, as well as transporting the brothers from the underworld to Lanka- these remarkable abilities are unparalleled and defy simple explanation.
He conquered an array of obstacles in his quest for Sita, thanks to his courage, patience, and unwavering spirit. During times of danger, he demonstrated amazing bravery and mental clarity. Always gaining success in all his endeavors, Hanuman never even came close to knowing failure. He dedicated his life to Lord Rama with no hint of selfishness; every action was a sacrifice to him. None compared to Shri Hanuman's dasya bhava, as he was an incomparable gem among devotees, the foremost scholar among pundits, the leader of celibates, and the chief of heroes and warriors.
Hanuman, untiring and devoted Sevak of Shri Rama, the joy of Anjana, king of Brahmacharins, show us the secrets of Brahmacharya and the means of attaining purity.
Hanuman is wherever Shri Rama and Shri Sita are praised and their deeds recited, and wherever Hanuman is, there are Shri Rama and Sita.
Hanuman, the faithful devotee of Lord Rama. Sri Anjaneya, the mighty hero, undaunted warrior, and learned Brahmachari, whose like the world has not seen nor will ever see.
We sing his glory now. May his blessings be upon you all.
